Fortum

Fortum was one of the Nordic countries' leading energy companies. Through a merger between an Energy company and an Oil company (Neste Oil) it´s business covered the entire energy chain, from the production of oil, gas, power and heat to refining, distribution and marketing, and to energy related engineering, and operation and maintenance. Fortum´s core expertise covers the management of environmental issues and the use of new technologies.

In 2005 Fortum was de-merged into an Energy company that kept the name Fortum and an Oil company that got the name from before the merger: Neste Oil. Thermera is a development of the Oil company and therefore moved to Neste Oil after the de-merger.
